South Korea Has $7 Billion Trade Surplus

South Korea posted a merchandise trade surplus of $7 billion in August, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy said on Friday.

That’s down from $10.646 billion in July, although it remains in the black for the 67th straight month, the ministry said.

Exports advanced 17.4 percent on year to $47.1 billion following the 19.5 percent spike in the previous month.

Imports advanced an annual 14.2 percent to $40.1 billion after gaining 14.5 percent a month earlier.
